Beets are filled with a whole lot of goodness.  They amp up the nutrient content of this smoothie recipe into a league of its own.  Beets are best known for their ability to help detoxify the liver and colon.  They are a great source of fiber, disease fighting antioxidants, and tryptophan, which helps boost our mood.  Beets also help increase our strength and energy levels.  They contain natural sugar that is released gradually into our bloodstream.  Therefore, beets are a wonderful source of energy especially for athletes who train or compete for several hours at a time.

Not crazy about the flavor of beets? This vegan and gluten-free smoothie has the vibrant red color of a beet with the sweet and refreshing flavors of pineapple, mango, and mint.  They compliment the earthy sweetness of the beet perfectly.  Take a sip and you just might miss the beet.

In a blender add..

(2 servings)

  • 2 organic beets, cooked
  • 2 c crushed ice
  • 1 c pineapple
  • ½ c mango
  • 4 mint leaves
  • ½ c almond milk, unsweetened
  • 1 tablespoon honey

~Blend until smooth and enjoy drinking the Super Beet!
